This standard specifies the permanent dry magnetic separator’s type, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, labeling, instructions for use, packaging, transportation and storage.
This standard applies to the permanent dry magnetic separator. The machine is mainly used for sorting strong magnetic minerals (such as magnetite, magnetic pyrite, etc.), it can also be used for quartz sand, grain and other non-metallic materials to remove iron.
Product type & model
The permanent dry magnetic separator uses an open magnetic system with no less than six poles and a magnetic envelope angle of not less than 132°, and the magnetic field is permanent magnet type. The magnetic system can be made into four types of A, B, C, D according to the different poles, see Table 1
The model number of the permanent dry magnetic separator shall conform to the provisions of JB/T 1604

The basic parameters of the single drum permanent dry magnetic separator should be in accordance with the provisions of Table 2, the basic parameters of the double drum permanent dry magnetic separator should be in accordance with the provisions of Table 3, and the basic parameters of the three drum permanent dry magnetic separator should be in accordance with the provisions of Table 4
2.1 The permanent dry magnetic separator should meet the requirements of this standard, and in accordance with the drawings and technical documents approved by the prescribed procedures for manufacturing.
2.2 All parts of the permanent dry magnetic separator should be inspected and qualified, outsourced parts should have a certificate of conformity before assembly.
2.3 The permanent dry magnetic separator should work normally under the ambient temperature of -30℃-40℃.
2.4 Under normal use conditions, the annual demagnetization rate of the magnetic system should not be greater than 1%.
2.5 Magnetic pieces performance should meet the following requirements.
- Magnetic energy product should not be less than 23.87kj/m³
- Coercive force should not be less than 183kA/m
- The coercivity of the magnetic wedge should not be less than 1.5 times the coercivity of the main magnetic system material
2.6 The drum surface should be treated with abrasion resistance. When using rubber-lined parts, the bonding strength should not be less than 2.94MPa.
2.7 The drum surface should be made of non-permeable material, and its roundness tolerance value should not be greater than 1.5mm.
2.8 The polarity of the magnetic system is arranged alternately along the circumference, and the polarity is the same along the axial direction, and the distance between the two magnetic systems in the permanent magnet drum should not be greater than 2mm.
2.9 The permanent dry magnetic separator works under negative pressure, and its working pressure should not be higher than 0.9MPa, and has a dust removal port for continuous air extraction.
2.10 The permanent magnet drum should rotate flexibly and no friction is allowed.
2.11 The radial runout and end runout of the drum surface should comply with the provisions of GBT 1184-1996 in the 9-level tolerance.
2.12 The combination surface between the door plate, insert plate and the box should be tight, no air leakage.
2.13 Permanent magnet drum, separation box and frame should be able to adjust between the three items. The first pole of the magnetic system should be in the separation box after 20mm from the material inlet.
2.14 Each adjusting handle should be correctly positioned and flexible.
2.15 Separation box, frame and feed hopper and other welded parts should be used continuous welding seam, and weld firmly, weld through, no slag, bubbles and cracks and other defects.
2.16 After the assembly of the permanent dry magnetic separator, it should have 2 hours empty run test, should meet the following requirements:
- Electrical control system is sensitive and reliable;
- machine running smoothly, no abnormal vibration:
- bearing temperature rise is not more than 35 “C, the highest temperature does not exceed 65 “C.
2.17 The working noise of the permanent dry magnetic separator should not exceed 70dB (A).
2.18 All exposed non-machined metal parts surface should be coated with two layers of primer and two layers of paint. The total thickness of the paint film should not be less than 74um, paint film adhesion should not be lower than the GB/T 1720 -1979 in the 2 levels. Paint should be uniform, there should be no paint, flaking, cracks and flow marks and other defects.
2.19 The scope of supply of the permanent dry magnetic separator:
- Complete set of mechanical parts;
- Electric control box, motor.
3.1 After the assembly of the magnetic system, the magnetic induction intensity should be measured by a Tesla meter with an accuracy level of not less than 2.5 and a probe with a thickness of not more than 2 mm within a range of 5 mm from the surface of the pole and not less than 250 mm from the end of the pole, and the value should be determined by the radial component of the magnetic field on the surface of the drum relative to the geometric center of the pole
3.2 The quality of the welding should be inspected before painting or lining, and the external defects of the welding and surrounding section should be inspected from appearance.
3.3 The correctness of the polarity of the magnetic system is checked separately with a Tesla meter along the axial and circumferential directions.
3.4 The noise of the permanent dry magnetic separator is inspected according to the provisions of GB/T 3768.
3.5 The determination of magnetic pieces performance according to the provisions of GB/T 3217.
3.6 Adhesive strength of the rubber-lined parts according to the provisions of HGT 3836 for inspection.
3.7 Paint quality and paint film adhesion determination according to the provisions of GB / T 1720.
- the integrity of the structure of the permanent dry magnetic separator, correctness
- 2.9, 2.10, 2.12-2.14, 2.18 requirements and magnetic induction strength
- new products or old products to the new production plant
- after normal production, product structure, materials or processes have a large change, may affect product performance
- the product is discontinued for more than a year, when resuming production;
- normal production of products, every three years for a type inspection;
- the results of the factory inspection and the last type inspection have significant differences:
- the national quality supervision and inspection agencies requires type inspection
Marking, labeling and operating instructions
5.1 The product label should be fixed on each permanent dry magnetic separator in an appropriate and obvious location. The label should comply with the provisions of GB/T 13306, and indicate the following
- the name and address of the manufacturer;
- product name and model:
- the main technical parameters;
- factory series number;
- the date of manufacture.
5.2 The manual of the permanent dry magnetic separator should comply with the provisions of GB 9969.1, and should be marked with conspicuous text permanent magnets on precision instruments, power tools and special patient safety tips.
5.3 The packaging mark of the permanent dry magnetic separator should comply with the provisions of GB/T 6388 and GB/T 191.
Packaging, transportation and storage
6.1 Permanent dry magnetic separator should be packaged in wooden boxes as a whole. Its packaging should meet the requirements of land or water transport.
6.2 The outer wall of the box should be clearly marked, its content includes,
- receiving station and the name of the receiving unit;
- shipping station and the name of the shipping unit;
- contract number and product name, model:
- gross weight, net weight, box number and external dimensions:
- center of gravity, lifting line, storage and transportation iconic signs and magnetic safety warning signs.
6.3 The permanent dry magnetic separator should be accompanied by the following technical documents:
- product quality certification documents;
- product manual;
- product general diagram, installation diagram;
- packing list and sets of shipping details.
6.4 The exposed processing surface of the permanent dry magnetic separator should be rust-proof, anti-corrosion treatment, and wrapped with plastic film. Corrosion prevention period should not be less than one year.
6.5 The permanent dry magnetic separator should be stored in the warehouse or can be ventilated, rainproof, prevent direct sunlight under the shed.
6.6 When the permanent dry magnetic separator is stored, it should have maintenance per year.
